Would I get the same effects from Zoloft if I take it at night

my doctor always leave it up to me when I take my meds. If it is making you tired and sleepy etc etc then try it at night. Remember at first there is a lot of side effects but given time most if not all of those side effects should wear off. take care good luck

Your doctor should have told u when to take ur medication, & that should actually be on the label. Chances r good that a change in timing will be fine, but u need to discuss it with ur doctor before making that decision yourself. My medication was making me drowsy, so my doctor said I could take it at night instead of in the morning, but I made that decision with my doctor, not on my own. Different medications work differently, & some need to be taken in the morning.

You should ask your doctor. I take zoloft, 150 mg. in the morning, but it does not affect me. Everyone is different, it is possible you cannot tolerate it and may have to try something else.

Taking Zoloft at night is probably a good idea. You do not say exactly how it made you ''feel like crap,'' but it does have some side effects that will probably be less noticeable at night than during the daytime. Also, keep in mind that many of Zoloft is side effects tend to go away after a while. But since it may cause drowsiness, it is probably best to take it at bedtime.

It should not make a difference to the effectiveness of the medication. Zoloft works by making long-term changes to neurons in the brain, so that serotonin is not as quickly re-absorbed.
