My mum has been recently been told she has diabetes and hence increased risk of heart attack. Chewing an aspirin is supposed to help in the event of a heart attack but will this be ok for my mum as she is allergic to ibuprofen? Thanks for your help. Henry

Is it still ok to take Aspirin in a heart attack if you are allergic to Ibuprofen

Ibuprofen is not aspirin but she should be talking to her doc about what is ok to take and not to take

Yes, aspirin and ibuprofen are different medications.

Aspirin is a standard of care during an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack).
