i´m taking 200mg zoloft and 150 mg efexor for severe depression and ocd. And tonight some of my friends keep asking me to go out tonight. l was wondering what could happen if l drink alcohol while on these meds. And is it wise?.... l drank alcahol while only on zoloft, and there nothing happened really.. but what could happen if l drink alcahol while on these meds. And is it wise?
I take 150 mg of Zoloft daily and to answer your question, you can drink. It will lessen the effects of the medicine for Zoloft, maybe increasing you OCD tendencies. On the other hand, I am not sure if you are allowed to drink while taking Efexor. To be safe, go out with your buddies and have a good time but keep the drinking to a minimum!

i wouldnt advise it to be honest. it should state on the insturctions if alcohol is allowed or not. always follow the instructions for the medication. plus of you have severe depression i wouldnt drink any alcohol anyways as alcohol is a depressant. depression + depressant = a very unhappy bunny! can you not just go out anyway and not drink alcohol?
