Zoloft is prescribed for depression. I have been on anti-depressants for 10 years now (since I was 18) & I have not had suicidal thoughts at all. I would not say it ''fixes'' chemical imbalances, but I would say it does help to correct them. I personally have not taken Zoloft I take welbuterin (along with a couple others) but welbuterin is one that I like the most b/c I do not have so many of the side effects. My son is also on a medication called Lamictal b/c he has Bi-polar 2 (the manic depressant) & he has NOT had ANY suicidal thoughts or I would pull him off (ween)in a heart beat!! Hope this helps '')
I would suggest taking the medication if u r feeling depressed b/c depression is obviously NOT fun & the benifits OUT WEIGH the side effects. '') '')
It is used to treat people with depression.
