if you have came off zoloft I need your advice and experience

I've come off of Zoloft & Effexor & I learned something very very valuable that I wish my doctor had known about. If you're having any of the weird twitchy or electric shock withdrawal symptoms Benadryl will mellow them out a lot, & if u take some simple Prozac for about a week when u stop taking Zoloft u will have very minor withdrawal symptoms. This is because the half-life of Prozac is much much longer than that of other SSRIs, so it naturally weans ur body off them slowly. Ask ur doctor for a seven day prescription of Prozac ASAP & tell him why.

I take paxil which is an SSRI like Zoloft so I imagine u r probably talking about the withdrawal symptoms that the docs do not tell u about when they put u on these meds. I have been on paxil for 12 years (since my son was born) have tried to go off a couple of times, have not made it. Too many horrible withdrawal symptoms. As soon as I get down to 20 mg. I get to the point where I can not get out of bed because I can not quit crying & end up shaking. And I usually end up at urgent care & right back on it again. So I have come to the conclusion that I will be on this medicine forever, it is serving a purpose. Hope this helps some. Some people r able to come off SSRI's. But I do not think they have been on them as long as me. GOOD LUCK !!

I took Zoloft for a short period of time and had a lot of trouble sleeping when I was on it. I had no withdrawal symptoms going off of it, but I was on it for a very short period of time and only took 25mg of it. Unfortunately, I know that many antidepressants can have withdrawal effects.
