My doctor has me on a weird regime and l just curious if anyone else has ever done this. She has me taking half a tab(25mg) for a week, then a full tab(50mg) for a week and then 2 tabs (100mg) consistently after that. She also mentioned l may need to take more? l am not someone who likes taking pills so this whole situation is making extremely anxious. Has anyone else had to do this with Zoloft?

Is this the normal dosage for Zoloft

Yeah that does not sound that weird to me. It is just a gradual ramp up. You should not be extremely anxious. In fact the goal of Zoloft is to NOT be anxious, or depressed.

What you should be on the lookout for though is whether the drug is working for you or not. Give it a few weeks before you decide. It is not for everyone.

yes that is quite common, medications of this nature have to be titrated to a therapeutic dose. The maximum dose for zoloft is 200mg a day. Also, If you discontinue the medication (under your doctors care) You will also have to gradually reduce your dose in the same manner. (usually reducing by 25mg-50mg over a 3-4 week period.)

that is a reasonable titration, she is starting you slowly with small doses to minimize possible side effects. And 100mg is not much really. When I was taking zoloft, I was on 350mg. And that does not mean more pills it just means stronger pills.
